Each year, the Mission Design & Automation team grows an Impact Fund by participating in company-wide fundraising events, with all proceeds going to three local nonprofits chosen annually. In 2025, employees nominated and voted to raise the Impact Fund for Benjamin’s Hope, ODC Network (Outdoor Discovery Center), and Fishing with Veterans—each receiving approximately $5,000 from a total of over $15,000 raised.
Fundraising Through Team Building
Over the past year, the Impact Team organized several fundraising events that our team enjoyed and supported a good cause. Activities included: a chili cookoff, euchre tournament, golf outings, sports brackets, and more! These events not only raised funds but also fostered camaraderie and friendly competition among team members.

Meet the 2025 Impact Fund Donation Recipients
In January, representatives from Benjamin’s Hope, ODC Network, and Fishing with Veterans shared their missions and a little about the work they do every day.

Benjamin’s Hope
Founded by Krista and Dave Mason, Benjamin’s Hope started after the two parents had the realization that their son Benjamin, who has developmental disabilities, would one day no longer have the structure that a typical school day offers available to him. After years of research into different care models for adults with diverse abilities, they created Benjamin’s Hope: a thriving community called home by 32 adults with developmental differences on a 52-acrea campus in Holland, Michigan. The nonprofit offers semi-independent housing opportunities uniquely designed for adults with autism and other disabilities, as well as community-building activities and infrastructure.

ODC Network
ODC Network works to advance outdoor education and conservation in West Michigan. Their offerings include a wide variety of community programs and youth camps to keep community active in local nature. Since 2012, ODC Conservation Services has provided natural area management and ecological restoration services, invasive species management, and wildlife habitat improvement services to public, commercial, and private landowners throughout West Michigan. The nonprofit also offers the community nature establishments like the River Junction Preserve, Rabit River Preserve, Redlum Farm Preserve, DeGraaf Nature Center, and Outdoor Discovery Center.

Fishing with Veterans
Fishing with Veterans’ mission is to give back to veterans for the sacrifices they have made and continue making by providing them with a day of fishing on Lake Michigan. The organization hosts an annual fishing trip and boat parade for veterans, supported by the local boating community that donates their vessels, equipment, and crew, as well as many volunteers. The next event will be on Saturday, July 11, 2026, and is the nonprofit’s 10th anniversary event. Veterans and captains can apply to participate on their website, fishingwithveterans.org.

What is the Mission Impact Team?
Established in 2023, the Mission Impact Team is an internal group at Mission Design & Automation dedicated to fostering a culture of service, community, and philanthropy. Through volunteer opportunities, fundraising initiatives, and team-building events, the team strengthens employee connections while making a lasting difference in the local community.
“The Mission Impact Team matters because it creates space for our employees to give back in ways that feel like what we’re doing makes a real difference. By hosting fundraising events and supporting local nonprofits, we’re not only providing financial support, but we’re also building awareness, encouraging involvement, and strengthening our connection to the community we’re part of,” said Mandy Dalziel, Mission Impact team member. “It’s important to our team to see the impact first-hand, and the Mission Impact Team paves the way for that to happen.”
Thank you to our team members for supporting Mission’s Impact Fund and volunteer opportunities, and a big thank you to 2025’s selected organizations for everything you do within our West Michigan community. We look forward to continuing to support local nonprofit organizations in 2026 and beyond.
