Each year, the Mission Design & Automation team rallies together to grow an Impact Fund through fundraising events, with all proceeds supporting three local nonprofits chosen annually. In 2024, employees nominated and voted to donate to Hand2Hand, Hope Pkgs, and Hospice of Holland—each receiving approximately $5,000 from a total of over $15,000 raised.
At our company-wide quarterly meeting, we proudly presented the donations, reinforcing our commitment to giving back. More than just fundraising, our team values community engagement, volunteering, and making a meaningful difference.
Fundraising Through Team Building
Over the past year, our team organized several engaging fundraising events that strengthened team bonds while supporting a good cause. Activities included: a chili cookoff, euchre tournament, weight loss challenge, golf outings, sports brackets, and more! These events not only raised funds but also fostered camaraderie and friendly competition—bringing our team together in support of something greater.

Meet the 2024 Nonprofit Recipients
At our February 3rd quarterly meeting, representatives from Hand2Hand, Hope Pkgs, and Hospice of Holland shared their missions and the vital work they do to uplift those in need.
Hope Pkgs: Comfort for Foster Children
Founded in 2015 by Lisa Hoeve, Hope Packages was born out of her personal experience as a foster parent. Seeing children arrive with nothing of their own, she created First Night Bags—filled with essentials like pajamas, socks, underwear, and toiletries—to provide comfort and dignity during a difficult transition. Since its inception, Hope Packages has delivered nearly 7,000 First Night Bags to foster children across Michigan.

Hospice of Holland: Compassionate End-of-Life Care
Since 1981, Hospice of Holland has been providing dignified, compassionate care for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses. Their services include hospice care, palliative care, continuous care, respite care, and general inpatient (GIP) care. Today, the organization employs more than 90 dedicated professionals and is supported by over 50 active volunteers.

Hand2Hand: Fighting Childhood Hunger
Hand2Hand is on a mission to combat weekend childhood hunger by providing backpacks filled with nutritious food to students who might otherwise go without. The organization mobilizes churches, schools, businesses, and individuals to support local children, ensuring they have the nourishment they need to thrive. Currently, Hand2Hand serves 15,000 students across 280 schools in West Michigan.

What is the Mission Impact Team?
Established in 2023, the Mission Impact Team is an internal group at Mission Design & Automation dedicated to fostering a culture of service, community, and philanthropy. Through volunteer opportunities, fundraising initiatives, and team-building events, the team strengthens employee connections while making a lasting difference in the local community.
“Our company recognizes the importance of giving back to the community that has been instrumental in our growth, and we take pride in supporting local nonprofit organizations by offering our time, resources, and financial contributions. Our team’s generosity and commitment to making a difference reflect our shared values and dedication to uplifting those around us,” said Virginia Berger, Mission Impact Team President.
At Mission Design & Automation, giving back is more than a tradition—it’s part of who we are. By supporting local nonprofits, we strive to create a positive impact that extends beyond our workplace and into the lives of those who need it most.
Thank you to our team and community for being part of our journey. We look forward to continuing this program in the years to come.
