Christian Holstege, fabrication and procurement specialist at Mission Design & Automation, recently joined an Association for Advancing Automation (A3) webinar conversation focused on the future of the automation supply chain.
In the episode, “Future-Proofing Your Supply Chain with Automation,” Holstege shared insights alongside Chris Round of Leuze Electric Inc., Chris Knorr of Integrion Automation, and Julian Ezman of Electromate Inc. Together, the group discussed current distribution challenges, lessons learned from the global Covid pandemic, and ways to prepare your business for future supply chain disruptions.
Hosted by Jim Beretta, president of Customer Attraction, the webinar explores practical ways the automation industry is adapting to ongoing changes and how to position your business for long-term stability. Some of the solutions mentioned were keeping a larger stock of common parts on hand, offering different brands to customers in place of parts with a long wait, as well as offering lightly used stock.
“Customer timelines don’t stop, so at the end of the day we have to find a solution to keep them going and keep the project on track,” Holstege said.
