AUTOMATION IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Level up Your Construction Operations with Automation
More and more, construction companies have been taking cues from the modern manufacturing industry, integrating automation into their practice. For instance, prefabrication, or constructing building components off-site before assembling them on location, is reshaping the construction industry by significantly speeding up build projects. Automation is at the heart of this transformation. By integrating automated solutions into your construction operations, you can achieve processes that are faster and safer for your team.
However, automation is not limited to prefabrication alone. Construction companies are integrating automated technologies in different areas of their business, from robotics in onsite assembly and advanced materials handling to intelligent systems that optimize resource planning and scheduling. Embrace automation to build faster and uplevel your business strategy.

BENEFITS OF AUTOMATING IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
ACCELERATE PROJECT TIMELINES
Automated construction solutions speed up both off-site and on-site operations. Robotic systems can swiftly handle repetitive tasks such as material shaping, structural building, routing, and custom wall package kitting, drastically cutting project timelines. Cut down time on mobile, modular, and stick-built home builds with automation.
INCREASE JOB SITE SAFETY
Protect your workforce by employing automation in hazardous or physically demanding tasks. Robots and automated machinery can handle heavy lifting and reduce repetitive human motions that can lead to injury. With automation managing these high-risk activities, your workers can operate safely, reducing incidents and enhancing overall job site safety.
ENHANCE QUALITY AND PRECISION
By automating your construction business, you can nail down processes that ensure the highest quality results. Technology like automated cutting machines, robotic welders, and computer-aided assembly tools maximize precision and cut down on common human errors. Automated framing systems work to accurately position components to exact specifications, so you can focus on your main tasks at hand, without adding costly rework to the list. Vision systems confirm every component is high quality and damage free.

ADVANCED APPLICATIONS IN CONSTRUCTION
Advanced manufacturing systems, custom-built for efficient construction
AUTOMATED OFFSITE PREFABRICATION
The work that gets accomplished on a construction job site often relies on factors outside of your team’s control, such as weather conditions, land readiness, and permits being approved on time. Many construction facilities are adding automated prefabrication processes into their build schedule to combat these issues early, increase efficiency and build speed.
In a factory setting, materials are measured and cut to size by CNC machines and robotic saws. Robotic arms and conveyors position each component, like studs, insulation, electrical wiring, and framing into assembly based on digital designs. Automated fastening systems secure the components together. Panels are completed with siding, drywall, or other surface materials, then shipped to the job site once the weather is clear, permits are approved, and the land is prepared for construction.
AUTOMATED MATERIAL TRANSFER SYSTEMS
Construction-grade materials, such as steel, lumber, drywall, precast concrete elements, and insulation, are cumbersome and hard to move from points A to B. This is where conveyor systems, automatic lifts, robotic handling, AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), and AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) come into play; helping do the heavy lifting so your workers can focus on the tasks that won’t throw their back out.
When adding in vision systems and vision guided robotics, material handling automation can also assist with sorting your materials, ensuring each part gets where it needs to go. Additionally, warehouse technology such as an AS/RS system (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) can efficiently store and retrieve your construction materials, optimizing storage space and notifying you when certain part types are running low.
ROBOTIC WELDING
Automating your welding process does not need to mean overhauling your entire workflow. Sometimes it means integrating a single robotic cell that helps with high-volume or repetitive welds; and sometimes it might mean a more customized setup that fits into your existing process. Either way, whether it’s resistance welding, arc welding, laser welding or other metal joining processes, automating can help ensure consistent, strong welds (and builds!).
